Contrast linkers
از «although»، «though» و «even though» قبل از یک جملهٔ کامل (فاعل + فعل) استفاده کن: «Although it was late, we stayed.» «though» می‌تواند در انتها هم بیاید: «I'm tired, though.» از «despite» و «in spite of» قبل از اسم یا شکل «-ing» استفاده کن، نه جملهٔ کامل: «Despite the rain» / «In spite of being tired». برای استفاده قبل از جمله، «the fact that» اضافه کن: «despite the fact that it rained».
Use "although", "though", and "even though" before a full clause (subject + verb): "Although it was late, we stayed." "Though" can also come at the end: "I'm tired, though." Use "despite" and "in spite of" before a noun or "-ing" form, NOT a full clause: "Despite the rain" / "In spite of being tired". To use them before a clause, add "the fact that": "despite the fact that it rained".
