Narrative tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect
هنگام تعریف داستان، سه زمان را با هم به‌کار ببر. گذشتهٔ ساده رویدادهای اصلی را به ترتیب می‌گوید: «He arrived and fixed the car.» گذشتهٔ استمراری پس‌زمینه یا کارِ طولانی‌تر را نشان می‌دهد: «It was raining while I was driving.» گذشتهٔ کامل نشان می‌دهد چه چیزی پیش از رویدادهای اصلی اتفاق افتاده بود: «The engine had broken down.» استفادهٔ هم‌زمان از آن‌ها داستانی روشن و طبیعی می‌سازد.
When telling a story, use three tenses together. The past simple gives the main events in order: "He arrived and fixed the car." The past continuous sets the background or longer action: "It was raining while I was driving." The past perfect shows what had happened before the main events: "The engine had broken down." Using them together makes a clear, natural story.
