Comparatives and superlatives
صفت تفضیلی دو چیز را مقایسه می‌کند: صفت‌های کوتاه «er-» می‌گیرند («cheaper than»)؛ صفت‌های بلند با «more» می‌آیند («more expensive than»). صفت عالی یکی را از میان گروه برمی‌گزیند: «the cheapest»، «the most expensive». بی‌قاعده: good → better → the best؛ bad → worse → the worst.
Comparatives compare two things: short adjectives add "-er" ("cheaper than"); long ones use "more" ("more expensive than"). Superlatives pick out one from a group: "the cheapest", "the most expensive". Irregular: good → better → the best; bad → worse → the worst.
