Passive voice
مجهول (be + اسم مفعول) در زبان حقوقی رایج است، چون خودِ عمل از انجام‌دهنده مهم‌تر است. حال: «The suspect is arrested.» گذشته: «The man was found guilty.» اغلب انجام‌دهنده را حذف می‌کنیم یا با «by» می‌آوریم: «He was punished by the court.»
The passive (be + past participle) is common in legal English because the action matters more than the person doing it. Present: "The suspect is arrested." Past: "The man was found guilty." We often leave out who does it, or add it with "by": "He was punished by the court."
