One word, and a double negative that is correct
Italian negation is the simplest of all the languages in this course: put non in front of the verb and you are done. Compare French, which needs ne and pas wrapped around the verb, or German, which makes you choose between nicht and kein. Better still, Italian keeps the non even when another negative word follows, producing a double negative that is fully correct: non vedo niente is literally I do not see nothing, and non c’è nessuno is there is not nobody. English forbids this; Persian allows it, saying «هیچ چیز نمیبینم» with both negatives present. Once again Italian sides with Persian.
