Ordering, and the charge that surprises everyone
To order, the natural pattern is come plus the course, then the verb: come primo prendo la pasta. Prendere is the everyday verb for having food, and vorrei works just as well. Two practical facts matter more than the grammar. First, the bill never arrives unasked — you say il conto, per favore. Second, almost every Italian restaurant adds il coperto, a fixed cover charge of one to three euros per person, printed on the menu; it is not a scam and not a tip, and because it exists, tipping on top is optional and modest.
